The day has finally arrived, my final day at my current job. There were many times over the last four years where I began to feel my patience and strength of will waning. But I kept soldiering on because I knew that God was presenting me with a once in a lifetime opportunity, and I could not ignore it. I kept my faith that everything would work itself out in due time, according to His Will. One of the greatest challenges that I noticed during this time was viewing all of this waiting not as lost or wasted time, but as an opportunity to grow in patience, discernment, and humility. It also served as a great reminder of the many gifts that God bestows upon us that we often take for granted.
I feel the mixture of excitement and fear that accompanies starting down a new career path, and I embrace it. It can be a scary thing to start a new career, especially when you have no prior experience working in the field. But it is important to remember that God is always at your side and that He will give you strength. I know that I am fortunate to be able to follow my lifelong dream, as I know many live their whole lives without the opportunity to do so. I am grateful for the chance to be a part of the start of a new industry in the midwest that will hopefully be able to change the lives of many for the better. Most of all, I look forward to bringing people closer to the God through the beauty of art.
The following is a prayer composed by Pope St. Pius X to the patron saint of workers, St. Joseph, asking for his intercession for a good and holy day of work:
O Glorious Saint Joseph, model of all those who are devoted to labor, obtain for me the grace to work in a spirit of penance for the expiation of my many sins; to work conscientiously, putting the call of duty above my natural inclinations; to work with thankfulness and joy, considering it an honor to employ and develop by means of labor the gifts received from God; to work with order, peace, moderation and patience, never shrinking from weariness and trials; to work above all with purity of intention and detachment from self, keeping unceasingly before my eyes death and the account that I must give of time lost, talents unused, good omitted, and vain complacency in success, so fatal to the work of God.
All for Jesus, all through Mary, all after thy example, O Patriarch, Saint Joseph. Such shall be my watch-word in life and in death. Amen.
Please pray for me and the rest of the crew and for the success of our first film and television projects that will soon be underway.
God Bless You All
Michael
