Welcome to A Fallible Catholic Family!
This newsletter is the collaborative work of a particular Catholic family searching for a larger Christian community. If you are searching for a community of faith, it seems Christians are required to go wherever they can find it since we are connected more through the internet than the neighborhood barbecue. A Fallible Catholic Family seeks to bring Christians together for enjoyment, encouragement, and support.
The faith teaches that we are strongest when we walk on our journey together. Our newsletter looks to bring people together to assist each other when we are beaten down. No one has all the answers. No one has perfected life. Our newsletter looks to inspire everyone to live a more holy life. Lastly, our world is filled with the beauty of God’s creation and the works of devout followers of Christ. Our newsletter will highlight the magnificence in all that God sustains.
What you’ll get
We’ll send you a weekly newsletter giving you our Catholic perspective on some aspect of daily life. Our Catholic faith is at the center of our lives. We believe living our faith goes beyond Sunday Mass attendance, that it should infuse the ordinary and humdrum activities of everyday life. Some posts will be one-time thoughts on a unique topic. Others will be part of a larger series with a connecting theme.
Simply put. We are Catholics with thoughts. We want to share those thoughts to form a stronger Body of Christ.
Why create A Fallible Catholic Family?
Our American society is no longer bound by shared Christian values. Our founders believed that our Constitution was written for “a moral and religious people.” The American people no longer fit that description as a whole, but millions do and yearn to connect with each other. Only by reaching out and sharing can we begin to reunite our Christian culture and heal our nation.
Get to know the siblings
Each of the contributors bring a unique perspective to the ordinary means of living out the Catholic faith. First, a veteran’s wife, homeschooling mother of four learning to live everyday as the beloved daughter of the King in the vocation He has called her to. One is a husband and father contemplating every aspect of those roles and beyond with analytical precision (accuracy debatable). Finally, the youngest is the easy-going, quiet observer who is discovering his place in the world while searching for the beauty and truth in the sub-creations of the world’s greatest storytellers.

My husband, Nick, and I have been married for eleven years. We were blessed to have lived on both coasts of the US and in Germany during our first eight years of marriage which gave us the opportunity for life changing pilgrimages and Catholic experiences in many cultures. After serving on active duty for over ten years, Nick transferred to the National Guard and we put down roots in rural Nebraska. I work part-time at our small country parish, teach Natural Family Planning through the Couple to Couple League, and dream about incorporating all of my passions into a ministry for women and families. Nick and I, along with our three children (ages ten to two), are currently doing our best to live the life of homesteading and homeschooling that God has called us to on our little 20-acre farm. We are especially excited to welcome baby #4 in August.

Blessed son of God, husband of four years, and father of two. As an engineer by trade and nature, I have always taken a cerebral approach to faith. I never stop connecting seemingly disconnected topics then diving deep into the details only to back up again and see an entirely different picture. One of my favorite aspects of my Catholic faith is the rich depth it has. As the ultimate creator of all reality, I enjoy searching for God’s fingerprint in all facets of the universe from the intricacies of quantum mechanics to the simple love of a well-cooked strip of bacon.

A recent college graduate entering a new stage in life on my own. For as long as I can remember, I have always had a love of art. I always viewed art as one of the divine gifts that God gave us. The beauty in lovely ballad, a visually stunning painting, or a heartbreaking acting performance, is what makes us alike to the angels. Unlike my siblings, I have never really been someone who plans what their life will be down the road. I have always been, for better or for worse, a ‘dreamer’. My primary concern is finding as much joy in each and every day that I have in this world, and leaving the rest in the hands of our eternal Father.
