Really good. In England we had a different way of computing it, which was 2oz of bread in the morning and a collation of 8oz, although some books say 2-3oz and 8-10oz when it's cold (and it's really wet and drab here at the moment and has been cold). Would be good to go harder but it's also quite hard doing it with small kids - they don't fast, sure, but they remain in need of the same amount of parental energy and alertness!

I like that you have oz specifications! SO much better than our big and small meal explanation. We all know that American meals are outrageously too big most of the time to begin with!

Having small kids definitely made the fast more difficult, and sacrificial. I tried to prepare as many things for them as I could ahead of time. My 12 and 10 year old were a big help with the little ones. What a good reminder though to spend time in prayer while the kids are enjoying a meal. It's also important we remember our kids are a constant opportunity to perform corporal and spiritual works of mercy with a joyful heart everyday.

I am hypo-glycemic… but would like to try fasting for more than 12 hours, which I have done. Does this book talk about this? Also I’m 70 yo … thanks for your comment..😊

I don't remember if she covers hypoglycemia in the book (I returned it to the library) but she does cover post-menopause and fasting based on hormones during that stage. She has A LOT of resources on her YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@DrMindyPelz
